Door codes

🌙 Could Steven do this alone at midnight? No, not yet

Only someone with admin on the eufy lock app can add or change a code. Ask Jacob first.

Steven said on 10/4 that Ari was the only one who knew how. secondhand Source: TRC road digest 2026-10-04. Who holds the eufy admin login today is unknown.

🔑 Before you start

  1. Get admin access to the TRC eufy lock account from Jacob. Jacob approves who gets a code.

Whether the admin seat moved off Ari's phone is unknown. If Jacob cannot add you, Ari still can.

  2. Install the eufy app on your phone and sign in with the account Jacob shares with you.

The app is now listed as “eufy”. Older guides call it “eufy Security”.

  3. Stand at the door. The lock talks to the phone over Bluetooth, so stay within a few feet.

➕ Add a code for a new person

  1. Open the eufy app and tap the lock.
  2. Tap Manage Access, then Add Access.

Some models say Share Devices instead. The TRC lock model is unknown.

  3. Type the person's name, set a 4 to 8 digit passcode, and pick Permanent, Scheduled or Temporary under Access Time. Tap Save.
  4. Test the new code on the door yourself before you hand it over.

  5. Give the code to that person alone, face to face or in a direct text. Never in a group chat, never on a page.

🔁 Change or remove a code

  1. Change: Manage Access, tap the person, tap Passcode, follow the prompts.
  2. Remove: Manage Access, tap the person, tap Delete Access. Do this the day someone leaves.

  3. Someone saw a code being typed? Change that person's code right away.

On 10/4 a podcast guest watched a staffer type a code. Ari changed it within minutes, and Greg asked everyone to rotate their codes that day.

🔋 Batteries

  1. When the eufy app warns that a lock is almost dead, replace its batteries that day.
fact Source: Ari's duty notes, 2026-08-07: “Eufy: I manage people's door codes and replace the batteries…”

Ari's note says “the doors”, plural. How many doors have eufy locks is unknown.
